    The worst moment of our tour so far:

    switching into Beaumont Rag

    Amy, Dave, and I are playing kazoo and being silly at the Toronto Island Dance, and we're ready to come out of that into Beaumont Rag. Audrey breaks her string on the first note of the new tune, and then I drop my kazoo on the crash cymbol. This was very painful to listen back to the first time, but now each time through cracks us up.

    Then the next night Audrey broke her new E string, in exactly the same place:

    switching into Beaumont Rag again

    We're not sure whether we should play this set again tonight...

    My Rainbow Kit

    For Christmas I got a really fun kit about rainbows. It had a rainbow catcher, a really cool necklace, a streamer thingy, and it also had a really really cool pinwheel, and it also had a bracelet and a pinata. Unfortunately the pinata didn't work out …

    I think that once a kid is in third grade they should be able to get a phone. I think that while sometimes parents might want kids not to have them at certain ages, phones can be quite useful at times. Tablets don't have GPS, they don't have WiFi…
