Standing Desk Update

December 17th, 2011
standing
Since september I've been using a standing desk at work. At the time people had asked me to give an update once I had a better sense of how it was working for me. So this is that update.

I'm now standing by default. I usually sit down for lunch, and then get tired and sit down again in the late afternoon. I don't find it painful [1], but it is somewhat tiring.

I'm generally happy with this.

[1] Near the beginning my arches would hurt; I think this was because I was putting too much weight on the front of my foot. After shifting my weight a little farther back onto my heels, they stopped hurting.
