Phones as Makeup Mirrors

Sometimes I'll see people put on makeup on the bus. Much of they time they'll use a smartphone instead of a mirror. A mirror is very simple technology, giving a very high resolution display with no latency. It's light, small, and cheap. But because the smartphone does the job well enough why carry an additional thing?
