  • New Bike Wheel

    October 30th, 2008
    bikes
Yesterday I biked back to the Dutch Bicycle Company to pick up my new front wheel. It is a 622mm (700c) Van Schothorst stainless steel westrick pattern rim with a Sturmey Archer XFDD hub (generator and drum brake). Pretty exciting. I put it on last night. Managed to get the drum brake working with only parts from the rear brake linkage. Have the generator hooked up to the incandesent bike light that came with the bike, but it's not very bright. I'm looking into building myself an LED light instead.
