  • Boston is a September 1st town

    September 19th, 2013
    housing, apartment  [html]
I've heard various people say that Boston's rental market turns over on September 1st, but it wasn't until I compared today's apartment map to last months that I really saw the difference:

    8/18 9/18
    listings 3368 383
    picture map map
There are 10x fewer apartments on PadMapper now than there were a month ago. This probably reflects most apartments being on a 9/1-8/31 lease cycle.
