Boston is a September 1st town

I've heard various people say that Boston's rental market turns over on September 1st, but it wasn't until I compared today's apartment map to last months that I really saw the difference:

There are 10x fewer apartments on PadMapper now than there were a month ago. This probably reflects most apartments being on a 9/1-8/31 lease cycle.
