  Challah
  Mix:
  
    - 1 1/2 cups flour
    
 - 3 tbs sugar
    
 - 1 1/2 tsp salt
    
 - 1 tbs yeast
    
 - 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  
 
  Add:
  
    - pinch of saffron in 1 cup warm water
  
 
  Mix all 2 minutes in blender or food processor.
  Take:
  
  Separate one egg, put yolk
  aside.  Add the separated white to three whole eggs and 1/2 cup flour.  Add
  this to to the rest, beat all in blender again for 2 minutes.
  
  Add enough flour (3-4 cups) to make a soft dough.  Knead 8-10 minutes.  Let
  rise one hour, until double size.
  
  Divide in half to make two loaves.  For each loaf, divide into 1/3 and 2/3
  pieces.  Braid each of these pieces, then put the smaller on top of the 
  larger.
  
  Take:
  
    - egg yolk from before
    
 - 1 tbs cold water
    
 - poppy seeds
  
 
  Mix yolk, water, brush tops of loaves.  Sprinkle on seeds.  Let rise one hour.
  
  Bake at 400 for 20-25 minutes.  Makes two smallish loaves.
