Also I would drop glass containers.  As such, I might decide it was safer to heat milk some other way (depending how many failure modes the other way has).  My highest reliability for a regular task like this is at best on the order of 99.9%, I think, which means if I do it once a day for a year, I might have a 30% chance of screwing up at least once.  That's too high if the failure mode is really bad (is it?).<br><br>(If you think I'm less reliable than most people, you may be right. I try to avoid owning too many sharp objects and driving motor vehicles because I don't like the odds if I use them regularly.  I accept some types of risk that I cannot reasonably avoid.  I can be more reliable for activities that can wait for a day that I'm in my best mental state before I do them.
