In that case, what is needed is a clean layout of the events using tabs or something, like \"Contra dances\", \"English dances\", \"Concerts\", \"Jams\", \"Singing events\", and the what not. Too much information on the front page may make it look  jumbled and may make it harder to find if you have to scroll a lot.
