There is a list of top donors, and for the fifth installment of the bundle, notch (creator of minecraft) hit the top spot with 1000 dollars. At that point the Humble Brony Bundle group was formed (http://humblebronybundle.blogspot.com/.../presenting...), and they combined forces to become top donor at 1200 dollars. Notch then bought the bundle again for 1337 dollars, putting him back in the top donation spot. The HBB responded by raising 1500 dollars to buy the top spot again. Keep in mind that these are new purchases, not upgrades. The over-the-top payments for what could be free games (with most of the money going to charities) for bragging rights of top donor look a lot like an all-pay auction.", "timestamp": "1371043438"}, {"author": "Jeff&nbsp;Kaufman", "source_link": "https://www.facebook.com/jefftk/posts/616131570272?comment_id=616155427462", "anchor": "fb-616155427462", "service": "fb", "text": "@Sasha: \"people doing something they would have been considering doing anyway\"<br><br>Isn't that also true for donating?", "timestamp": "1371057682"}, {"author": "Sasha", "source_link": "https://www.facebook.com/jefftk/posts/616131570272?comment_id=616157243822", "anchor": "fb-616157243822", "service": "fb", "text": "I don't think it's analogous, at least not with the X-prize specifically.
