Pete's Posse has been acting as a collective, in that all revenue goes back to the band, for band expenses of all kinds, incl gas, tolls and a hell of a lot of Thai food on the road - we all have other bands, other merchandising opportunities, but it's fairly even among the 3 of us, so there wasn't the pressure to address the issue you Raisins did - but good on ya for posting your process", "timestamp": "1466337337"}, {"author": "Kristen", "source_link": "https://www.facebook.com/jefftk/posts/794681225332?comment_id=794822063092", "anchor": "fb-794822063092", "service": "fb", "text": "I gasped when I read you guys paid for your studio CD out of pocket. That's a big investment. I liked that The Ripples went with a Kickstarter because as you said, folks are really just pre-ordering CDs and you make sure that the interest is there. When we got them in hand we divided them six ways among a five person band with one share being the starter box for band gigs. All CDs sold at band gigs come out of the band box and we split the money evenly. Any CDs given away for promotional purposes come out of the communal box. When the box is empty, we resupply from our personal stashes in equal amounts. Then people are free to sell at other gigs from their personal supplies and keep the proceeds.  As we each run out of our personal supply, we've been able to purchase more at cost from one band member who hasn't sold as many.", "timestamp": "1466396150"}]}
