It seems that sprung or forgiving floors are conducive to a stomp and unsprung floors work better for a slap. Slaps also work well when the momentum is forward, such as in a forward and back. I also find that locations within a hall can vary significantly. What hurts my knees more than stomping is a sticky floor or sticky shoes. Finally, if the entire sole(s) of the shoe(s) strikes the floor, very little elevation is required to get big results. Most of the time, I'm rarely above 2\", often less.", "timestamp": "1375029261"}, {"author": "Cecile", "source_link": "https://www.facebook.com/jefftk/posts/621825075442?comment_id=621880464442", "anchor": "fb-621880464442", "service": "fb", "text": "Dancing barefoot, I usually give it up as a lost cause", "timestamp": "1375034655"}, {"author": "Ronald", "source_link": "https://www.facebook.com/jefftk/posts/621825075442?comment_id=621897654992", "anchor": "fb-621897654992", "service": "fb", "text": "Also, one of the things I picked up from my years doing Flamenco is that when you stomp, hit the floor with your knees bent.
