* Nearly all the feedback I've gotten on this has been positive (since switching it ~4y ago to only use first names).
* I have had two people (ever) ask to be excluded, and I'm happy to exclude anyone else who'd prefer that.
* There isn't a way to include this information on my posts here where people will reliably see this disclaimer before commenting (since people often comment without expanding the full text of a post) and it would be pretty verbose to include it all the time regardless.
* Comments people make on public posts (mine and other people's) already show up on non-facebook sites, since search engines also scrape facebook. So the \"public\" (as opposed to \"friends\" or \"friends and friends-of-friends\") globe symbol on this post already tells you when your comments will be visible off of facebook.
* An intermediate option would be continuing to include the comments on my blog, but then exclude them from search results via robots.txt. Old visitors would probably stop noticing it over time, and new ones might appreciate the pointer.
