For example, I'm pretty sure that in Greenfield the cost of the band is higher for most, but not necessarily all, dances. In Holliston, the cost of the band is higher.  <br><br>Some towns use their town halls primarily for weddings, but have a different rate for community groups, some charge the same high price for both, and some are not popular for weddings but are still good places for dances and have low prices.<br><br>The Porter Square Masonic Hall's prices have gone up much more rapidly than most and certainly more rapidly than band pay; it used to be cheaper than the band. I don't think this is a general trend; I think it's a change in how the Masons perceive and monetize their asset.  A similar change happened to the OCBC, which used to be quite cheap before it got rented in its entirety by the ballet company.
