Which enough of us did.  I'm just used to the call needing to be first explained.  Even weirder, in this case it could just have been \"gents cross the set and swing partner\". To me an aleman is someone who pours me a pint.  An allemande is a turn by one hand in contra, or a progressive figure in Scottish.
