I often struggle with trying to figure out what is the \"right\" thing to do in a given situation.
Looking at the larger world, I also realize I can't change everything, so I want to work on a piece of the world in how I volunteer and where I donate. So, with the exception of Friends organizations, I try to donate where my money goes further. For example, $100 to a local charity goes further in their budget than $100 to a mega-charity.
The exception is Friends organizations and disaster relief. I try to figure \"who has boots on the ground\" before I send money after a hurricane, earthquake, flood, etc. I also want to know how the charity will use the money.
