I advise you use an organic vapour respirator (3m sells good ones) all windows open and everyone else isn't home.
But it really will not be long to wash it off. Toluene doesn't attack paper or gypsum, but it might be cosolvent with the glue on the paper, but think that's fine, just don't soak the paper.
Xylene works here too, but it's less strong; and I don't think you have an underlying layer to protect. Go toluene.
