A rough approach is:

* Listen to the piece while doing something mildly distracting. Dancing is ideal, but washing dishes, walking, etc, is ok. Notice if there are times when you're broken out of what you were doing, either through a jarring mistake in the music or something so distractingly awesome it demands your focus. Note where these are, and figure out how you feel about the piece overall.

* Listen to the piece carefully, while not doing anything else. Note places you like what you're hearing, and places where you don't like it. Think about what makes you feel that way, but even if you can't put your finger on it there's still a lot of value in \"something feels off around 1:45-2:20\" or \"I love the ending\".

One thing to keep in mind is that this is music for dancing, not for listening, so it's ok if when you listen to it directly without doing anything else it feels like the music moves relatively slowly through ideas and is slightly boring.", "timestamp": "1562786531"}, {"author": "Carol", "source_link": "https://www.facebook.com/jefftk/posts/10100101326762192?comment_id=10100101331318062", "anchor": "fb-10100101331318062", "service": "fb", "text": "I may take you up on this! and would be happy to trade if I do.", "timestamp": "1562762815"}, {"author": "Ambivert", "source_link": "https://www.facebook.com/jefftk/posts/10100101326762192?comment_id=10100101373767992", "anchor": "fb-10100101373767992", "service": "fb", "text": "I need to know that people want constructive criticism before I'll give that in response to \"What did you think?\" so rephrasing the question may also help.
